Corporate Community
For many organizations, the Foundation is a vehicle through which all parties directly invest and participate in projects to advance phlebology. Prior to the development of the Foundation, many felt they had no formal place to get directly involved with medical professionals who shared their interests in venous disease. Through the Foundation, these organizations can, in partnership with the individual donors of the American College of Phlebology, create funding to invest in the pursuit of initiatives to change the specialty without creating ethical issues.
All corporate and organizational giving to the Foundation meets the published ethical standards of the ACCME, AMA, and the College. All Foundation funding is made via an open grant process that meets the ethical standards of the ACCME, AMA and the College. Therefore, all organizations are welcome to consider a partnership with the Foundation and its donors.
The Foundation invests in projects considered relevant to the needs of the specialty. In many cases, these grants are developed by the College and then formally submitted for consideration to the Foundation for funding.
All deliverables and informational content are wholly owned by the applicant, but through the grant process, important expertise and community knowledge within the commercial sector can be voiced on a particular initiative under consideration. The inclusion of this expertise ensures that all points of view about a particular initiative are considered and that the Foundation maintains a collective approach to the needs of the specialty.
In addition, the applicant can, through the review process, consider whether or not the insights or advice of the Foundation’s collective leadership is worth including in his or her project. At the end of the day – the funding applicant owns and maintains the content of his or her project and the Foundation simply elects to fund it or not.
"I am proud of both our corporate and my own personal involvement with the Foundation. To work along side leading physicians on projects intended to change a specialty is an amazing experience. I am especially impressed by the Foundation’s approach to working inclusively to solve issues facing the entire phlebological community."
~George Zorich
President, Bioniche Pharmaceuticals
As of the end of 2007, corporate/organizational giving reached just over $3.6 million from twenty-one (21) groups. This equates to seven (7) out of every ten (10) dollars raised by the Foundation to date, despite representing only one (1) out of every nine (9) ACPF donors.
"As a vendor, we see the Foundation as a vehicle for change in the specialty. Since our involvement began, we have been impressed by both the changes and the energy the Foundation has brought to efforts to advance the treatment of venous disease."
~Annerose Zorn
President, JUZO
The average corporate gift is currently just over $140,000; however, there is a wise range of giving levels.. Organizational giving is a matter of identifying a variety of different interests. Recognition is available according to several distinct giving levels and can be made on an annual, one-time or multi year basis. Multiple year commitments are possible over a maximum term of five (5) years. Please contact the Foundation headquarters for a detailed list of giving levels.
